Rental licensing / registration

Yes. Owners or managers of regulated rental units must hold a valid, current residential rental registration or license from the city, and must register each unit every year by the deadline for their neighborhood (May 15 College Hill, July 15 Downtown, September 15 South Side, November 15 West Ward), with late fees under the city fee chapter. A license is not issued or renewed until the owner has a business license, is current on city taxes and utility fees, names any manager, lists adult occupants, and passes inspection. Owners must report a change of ownership or in the number of units within five business days. Owner-occupied units with no more than two unrelated people besides the owner's family are not regulated rental units.
