Crime-free housing & nuisance rental rules
When the city manager determines a property is a chronic nuisance property, notice is posted and mailed to the person in charge and owner, and the city may seek closure. The code states: "When the manager determines property is chronic nuisance property, he/she shall thereupon cause a notice to be prominently posted on the property of that determination and mailed by first-class mail, return receipt requested to the person in charge and/or the owner, if different" (§ 8.06.020).
