Short-term rentals (Airbnb)
Yes, but only as a license requirement. Arizona law (A.R.S. § 9-500.39) bars cities from prohibiting short-term rentals. Since January 8, 2023, no one may operate a vacation or short-term rental in Scottsdale without a current City vacation rental license, with a separate license for each dwelling unit. The fee is $250, and operating without a license is a civil offense with a fine of at least $1,000 per violation.
