Last reviewed 2026-10-15

What disclosures must a landlord give tenants in Washington?

Under RCW 59.18.060, landlords must give tenants written fire-safety information when the lease is signed, including smoke-detector notice and, in multi-unit buildings, evacuation information. They must also provide Department of Health information on indoor mold. For leases entered into after Dec. 31, 2026, they must also disclose possible flood-hazard location, that the landlord's insurance does not cover the tenant's belongings, and where county hazard information is available.
