Right to cure / redeem in Virginia

In a nonpayment eviction, the tenant (or anyone on the tenant's behalf) can pay all rent, contracted fees, late charges, attorney fees and court costs owed as of the court date, and the case is dismissed (unless there are other grounds). The tenant can also present a written redemption commitment from a local government or nonprofit at the first return date to get a 10-day continuance to pay. Even after judgment, paying everything at least 48 hours before the scheduled eviction stops it.
