South Dakota Early termination (DV/military)
Can a tenant break a lease early for domestic violence or military service in South Dakota?
A victim of domestic abuse, unlawful sexual behavior or stalking may end the lease without an early-termination penalty. The tenant must give written notice citing fear of imminent danger, with a police report, protection order or provider statement from the past 30 days. The tenant also does not owe the following month's rent.
