Massachusetts Rental inspections

Can the city inspect my rental property in Massachusetts?

In Massachusetts, local boards of health (or the housing inspection commissioner in Boston, Worcester and Cambridge) enforce the State Sanitary Code in rental housing. Inspection reports must go to the occupants within 7 days and list the violations found, and a person whose request for an inspection is not acted on can appeal to the full board or agency head. Statute text: "Local boards of health shall enforce said code in the same manner in which local health rules and regulations are enforced" (Mass. Gen. Laws c. 111, § 127B).
