Kansas Retaliation protections
Is landlord retaliation illegal in Kansas?
Yes. A landlord may not raise rent or cut services because the tenant complained to a code agency or to the landlord, or joined a tenants' union. Retaliation is a defense to eviction. Good-faith increases to cover rising costs are allowed.
