Idaho Smoke & CO detectors
Does a landlord have to provide smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in Idaho?
Landlords must install approved smoke detectors and verify they work at move-in, and tenants must keep them working. If the landlord doesn't install them within 72 hours of the tenant's certified-mail notice, the tenant may install them and deduct the cost from the next month's rent.
