Connecticut Death of a tenant
What happens to the lease when a tenant dies in Connecticut?
When the only occupant of a unit dies, the landlord may use the statutory process. That means sending notice by regular and certified mail to the occupant's emergency contact and next of kin that the occupant has died and that the landlord intends to remove belongings and re-rent, before removing the property.
