Wisconsin Repairs and habitability remedies
What can a tenant do if the landlord won't make repairs in Wisconsin?
If the unit becomes untenantable, or a substantial violation materially affects health or safety, the tenant may move out unless the landlord promptly repairs. A tenant who stays gets a rent abatement in proportion to the lost use. The statute does not authorize withholding all rent.
