Washington Right to cure / redeem
Right to cure / redeem in Washington
Yes. A Washington residential tenant who receives a 14-day notice to pay rent or vacate can avoid an unlawful detainer by paying within the 14 days. For a broken lease term other than rent, the notice must give the tenant 10 days to comply or move out, and performing the term within those 10 days saves the lease. Statute text: "Within 10 days after the service of such notice the tenant, or any subtenant in actual occupation of the premises, or any mortgagee of the term, or other person interested in its continuance, may perform such condition or covenant and thereby save the lease from such forfeiture." (RCW 59.12.030(3)-(4)).
