What happens to the lease when a tenant dies in Washington?

When a sole occupant dies, the landlord must promptly notify the known representative, designated person or emergency contact. The tenancy ends 15 days after the notice or when paid-up rent runs out, whichever is later, unless a representative prepays rent (up to 60 days from the death) to remove the belongings.
