Eviction record sealing in Virginia

After an eviction case is dismissed or nonsuited (once the applicable waiting period has passed and if no order of possession was entered), the court must expunge the records on its own, without a petition or hearing. If judgment was for the tenant, the tenant may petition for expungement.
