North Carolina Manufactured / mobile home parks
Manufactured / mobile home parks in North Carolina
In North Carolina, the owner of a manufactured home community (five or more homes) who plans to convert it to another use that requires moving the homes must notify each home owner and the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency at least 180 days before the home owners must move. Missing that notice is a defense to an eviction. If a government order closes the community, notice is due within three business days. Statute text: "notice of the intended conversion at least 180 days before the owner of a manufactured home is required to vacate and move the manufactured home, regardless of the term of the tenancy" (N.C. Gen. Stat. § 42-14.3(a)-(b)).
