Nevada Early termination (DV/military)

Last reviewed 2026-10-15

Can a tenant break a lease early for domestic violence or military service in Nevada?

Victims of domestic violence, harassment, sexual assault or stalking (within the last 90 days) can end the lease with written notice plus a protection order, police report or qualified third-party affidavit. Termination takes effect at the end of the current rental period or 30 days after notice, whichever is sooner, and the deposit can't be withheld for early termination. Tenants aged 60+ or disabled who must relocate for care can terminate with 30 days' notice.
