Last reviewed 2026-10-15

What can a landlord do with property a tenant leaves behind in Nevada?

The landlord must store abandoned or post-eviction property safely for 30 days and may charge reasonable storage costs. After that, if the landlord made reasonable efforts to locate the tenant and mailed written notice, the property may be disposed of 14 days after the notice. Within 5 days after an eviction or lockout, the tenant must be allowed to retrieve essentials such as medication and clothing.
