Michigan Right to cure / redeem
Right to cure / redeem in Michigan
Yes, after judgment. In most Michigan cases the court cannot issue the eviction order (writ of restitution) until 10 days after a judgment for possession. If the judgment is for unpaid rent or other money due under the tenancy and the tenant pays the judgment amount plus taxed costs within that time, the writ may not issue. Some cases, such as forcible entry or a serious health hazard, can get an immediate writ. Statute text: "the writ of restitution must not be issued if, within the time provided, the amount stated in the judgment, with the taxed costs, is paid to the plaintiff" (MCL 600.5744(5), (7)).
