Kentucky Abandoned property
What can a landlord do with property a tenant leaves behind in Kentucky?
Under URLTA, if a tenant abandons the unit the landlord must make reasonable efforts to re-rent at a fair rental, and the lease ends when a new tenancy begins. The act sets no procedure for disposing of personal property left behind (whole act read). It applies only in localities that adopted it.
