Florida Holdover tenants
What happens if a tenant stays after the lease ends in Florida?
When a written lease with a fixed term expires and the tenant stays without a new written lease, it becomes a tenancy at sufferance. Accepting rent alone doesn't renew the lease; with the landlord's written consent it becomes a tenancy at will.
