Connecticut Holdover tenants

Last reviewed 2026-10-15

What happens if a tenant stays after the lease ends in Connecticut?

A tenant holding over after the lease ends is not evidence of an agreement for a new lease. An oral monthly lease with no agreed end date is treated as a lease for one month only.
