Deposit bank holding / separate account in Connecticut

Connecticut landlords must put the full security deposit into an escrow account at a Connecticut financial institution right away, act as escrow agent, withdraw only for the purposes the statute lists, and give the tenant written notice of the amount held and where. Statute text: "Each landlord shall immediately deposit the entire amount of any security deposit received by such landlord from each tenant into one or more escrow accounts established or maintained in a financial institution for the benefit of each tenant" (Conn. Gen. Stat. § 47a-21(h)).
