Colorado Property manager licensing
Property manager licensing in Colorado
In Colorado, renting or leasing real estate for others for compensation is a real estate broker activity that requires a license from the Real Estate Commission. A salaried on-site manager working for the owner of an apartment building is exempt for customary on-site duties. Statute text: "It is unlawful for any person, firm, partnership, limited liability company, association, or corporation to engage in the business or capacity of real estate broker in this state without first having obtained a license from the commission" (C.R.S. §§ 12-10-201(6)(a), 12-10-202 (2024 C.R.S.)).
