Short-term rentals (Airbnb)
Allowed only as a homestay: an owner may rent out all or part of the home they live in as their permanent residence, with an Accessory Use Permit. No more than 6 adult overnight guests are allowed per lot per day, no exterior sign is allowed, and no food may be served to guests. Smoke and CO detectors and fire extinguishers are required, and the city may inspect at least once a year. Permits run through December 31 of the year issued, and the owner must live in the unit at least 185 days during that period. A permit can be revoked after 3 or more substantiated complaints in a year, and the owner is then barred from new homestay permits for the rest of that year and all of the next.
