Short-term rentals (Airbnb)
Yes, under the Unified Development Code. Owner-occupied short-term rentals: the owner must first register to remit sales, use and occupancy taxes (or use a platform that does), must live there with a homestead exemption and be present during stays, and may rent at most one bedroom fewer than the home has (§ 9.3.6). Non-owner-occupied short-term rentals need a permit from the Division of Permits and Inspection plus the tax registration; the permit stays valid unless the rental stops operating for a year. Occupancy is capped at two people per bedroom plus two, with one parking space per rented bedroom (§ 9.3.7). Either type loses the right to operate after three adjudicated violations in one year.
