Wisconsin Death of a tenant
What happens to the lease when a tenant dies in Wisconsin?
When a residential tenant dies, a lease ends at the earlier of 60 days after the landlord learns of the death or the end of the term (60 days for periodic tenancies). The estate owes no rent after that, and the landlord can't pursue family members who aren't liable.
