Vermont Retaliation protections
Is landlord retaliation illegal in Vermont?
Yes. A landlord may not retaliate by changing lease terms or bringing or threatening an action against a tenant who complained to a code agency or to the landlord, or who joined a tenants' union. A no-cause termination within 90 days after a government notice of health or safety noncompliance is presumed retaliatory.
