Vermont Repairs and habitability remedies
What can a tenant do if the landlord won't make repairs in Vermont?
Minor defects: if not repaired within 30 days of notice, the tenant may repair and deduct up to half a month's rent. Habitability defects materially affecting health and safety that aren't fixed within a reasonable time after notice: the tenant may withhold rent, seek an injunction or damages, or terminate.
