New Hampshire Just-cause eviction
Does a landlord need just cause to evict in New Hampshire?
Yes, for "restricted property" (defined in RSA 540:1-a). The landlord may end a tenancy only for a listed reason, such as nonpayment, substantial damage, a material lease violation, behavior affecting health or safety, or other good cause. Code text: "The lessor or owner of restricted property may terminate any tenancy by giving to the tenant or occupant a notice in writing to quit the premises in accordance with RSA 540:3 and 5, but only for one of the following reasons."
