Nevada Foreclosure tenant protections

Last reviewed 2026-10-17

What rights does a tenant have after foreclosure in Nevada?

After a residential foreclosure sale in Nevada, a tenant in possession (not the borrower) can be removed only after a notice of the change of ownership and a notice period of at least 60 days for monthly or longer periodic tenancies (one full period for shorter ones). During that time the new owner takes on the old landlord's duties under the lease. Statute text: "For all other periodic tenancies or tenancies at will, after not less than 60 days." (NRS 40.255(2)-(3)).
