Nevada Eviction court process & timeline

How does the eviction court process work in Nevada?

Nevada summary eviction for unpaid rent starts with a written pay-or-surrender notice giving the tenant until the close of business on the 7th judicial day. The tenant can contest by filing an affidavit with the court in that time, and the court then holds a hearing. If the tenant does not respond, the landlord files an affidavit of complaint, and the court can order the sheriff or constable to post a removal order within 24 hours and remove the tenant 24 to 36 hours after posting. Statute text: "Before the close of business on the seventh judicial day following the day of service" (NRS 40.253(1), (3), (5)-(6)).
