Nebraska Smoke & CO detectors
Does a landlord have to provide smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in Nebraska?
In rental property, the owner (or agent) must supply, install, maintain and test smoke detectors. A tenant who stays a month or more must test the detector per the manufacturer's instructions, replace batteries and tell the owner in writing about any defect. Batteries must work at move-in, and the owner must give testing instructions and fix reported defects.
