Maine Lease renewal / non-renewal notice

Does a landlord have to give notice before not renewing a lease in Maine?

The state landlord-tenant statute (14 M.R.S. chs. 709, 710 and 710-C, read in full on 2026-10-16) has no provision on notice requirements for renewing or not renewing a lease. Local ordinances or other state or federal laws may still apply.
