Foreclosure tenant protections in Maine

After a foreclosure judgment, the lender must give residential tenants a copy of the judgment and notice of later proceedings through the sale. A tenant can be evicted only through a court forcible entry and detainer action brought after that notice and after the redemption period ends. Statute text: "The mortgagee shall, after entry of final judgment in favor of the mortgagee, provide a copy of the foreclosure judgment to any residential tenant of the premises" (14 M.R.S. § 6322-A).
