Can a tenant fix something and deduct it from rent in Louisiana?

If the lessor doesn't make necessary repairs within a reasonable time after the lessee demands them, the lessee may have them made. The lessee can then get reimbursed right away or apply the cost to rent, but only to the extent the repair was necessary and the cost reasonable.
