Kansas Rental inspections
Can the city inspect my rental property in Kansas?
Kansas cities and counties may not require periodic interior inspections under a rental licensing ordinance unless the occupant consents. Occupants may request a code inspection at any time. Statute text: "No city or county shall adopt, enforce or maintain a residential property licensing ordinance or resolution which includes a requirement for periodic interior inspections of privately owned residential property for city or county code violations unless the lawful occupant has consented to such interior inspections" (K.S.A. 12-16,138).
