Indiana Rental licensing / registration
Do landlords need a rental license or registration in Indiana?
Indiana cities and counties may run a rental registration program, but the annual registration fee is capped at $5, and one fee covers all units in a rental unit community. Programs created before July 1, 1984 are excluded from this section. Statute text: "A political subdivision may impose on an owner or landlord of a rental unit an annual registration fee of not more than five dollars ($5)." (Ind. Code § 36-1-20-5).
