How much can a landlord charge for a rental application fee in Hawaii?

A landlord may charge an application screening fee only for applicants 18 or older (or emancipated minors), to cover screening costs. On request, the landlord must give a receipt and a cost breakdown. Any unused part of the fee must be refunded within 30 days after the screening requests are submitted.
