Property manager licensing in District of Columbia

The District of Columbia licenses property managers as a separate occupation under its Real Estate Brokers and Property Managers law. A property manager acts for the owner in property management matters for pay, and may not list, sell or negotiate sales or loans. Statute text: "the term “property manager” means an agent for the owner of real estate in all matters pertaining to property management as defined in this subchapter, which are under his or her direction, and who is paid a commission, fee, or other valuable consideration for his or her services" (D.C. Code § 47-2853.141).
