Can cities in Alaska pass rent control?
Alaska's landlord-tenant act (AS 34.03, read in full on 2026-10-15) neither imposes rent control nor preempts local rent control. Rent levels are set by the lease, subject only to the anti-retaliation rule (AS 34.03.310).
